I see you really love Rosa. I love Rosa too. She's a charming character, and full of beauty. She's my favorite girl character in the game, and in the series, next to Refia from Final Fantasy III.
There shouldn't be so much hatred. She's too sweet to not like. Of course, I can see today that people compare her with Peach as the typical "damsel in distress".
What's sad is that Rosa isn't any more of a damsel-in-distress than the other FF women. In fact, the others are worse than her in that regard. You only need to help her twice in the game, whereas other female FF leads you need to rescue the same number of times or more, such as with Yuna. And unlike others, the times you need to help Rosa are through absolutely no fault of her own. Anyone can get Desert Fever but she happened to be unfortunate enough to contract it, and Rosa was only kidnapped because Cecil and Kain both cared about her but were too weak (in different ways) in Fabul to do anything to prevent her kidnapping.
I really hope I get to see more positive treatment in the future toward the character by people who play the series, or at least FF4. It's really upsetting to see that the bad Rydia fans have been so successful in making Rosa out to be a bad character when she's not.
Yeah, I'm assuming it's the fault of the bad segment of Rydia's fanbase because it's only Rydia's fans who I've seen show hatred toward Rosa. Them and yaoi fangirls who want Cecil and Kain to be together and see Rosa as an annoying obstacle to their fantasies.
I tend not to pay attention to fan girls, but I get what you are saying. It IS unfair that Rosa is always seen as a back person, and she does help the story progress along. Rydia isn't a bad character, but in my PPOV she will always have a simple mind of a child.
